The white spotted cat snake is a slender species known from lowland to hilly rainforest. throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Its Southeast Asia range extends to Singapore, Thailand, Borneo and Indonesia. They are two phases; the brown phase is smaller and slightly orange, with faint ocellated banding and whitish spots along the ventrolateral area; the green phase is larger with broad, undefined ocellated bands and pinkish dots along the ventrolaterals. Interestingly, the green phase seems to be highy aggressive while the brown phase is relatively docile. In the wild, they prey mostly on geckos, frogs and other snakes, often encountered on the ground at night.
