Tree Snakes
Southeast Asia |
Tree snakes are arboreal species that fall not under any of the major genera represented on this site. The Ahaetulla complex is given a quick summary, with a note on the different colour forms and how it often results in misidentification with other species. The bridle snake is a long and slender species that inhabits the hollows and recesses of trees. It occurs in a striped and banded form, the latter more common in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, while the former more widespread in Borneo. Finally, the keel bellied whip snake is a common species that is known to sleep vertically along tree trunks.
