The tentacled water snake is a rather unique aquatic species that is found in lowland rainforest in bodies of tanin-rich and slow-moving water. This species feeds primarily on fish and frogs. It is yellowish brown in colouration with a dark lateral stripe that starts from the supralabials.
There is a pair of appendages that stick out from both sides of the snout, giving the appearance of tentacles. In Southeast Asia, it is native to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. |
