Spotted Tree Frog Nyctixalus pictus |
The spotted tree frog is a tiny but beautiful species amphibian. Their typical colours are bright orange littered with speckles of white spots, but they are able to change to a darker chestnut colouration, especially when on the ground. The upper portion of their irises are whitish yellow.
Widely distributed across Southeast Asia in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo and Indonesia, this frog is usually common within deep rainforest. While arboreal, they can be found in the leaf litter and among shrubs of low heights, especially those located near streams. |
