Rainbow Water Snake

The rainbow water snake is a pretty aquatic species with an irridescent sheen on the body. It is olive brown with two broad dorsolateral yellow or reddish stripes accompanied by darker stripes at the lateral region. The ventrals are white with a pale dark stripe that cuts across the center. This beautiful snake can be found in lowland and mid-level rainforest areas as well as islands, where it feeds on frogs and fish. In Southeast Asia, this species occurs in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
