Amphibians ~ Tree Frogs ~ Peter's Bush Frog

This small bush frog is found in Peninsular Malaysia and throughout Borneo in Southeast Asia. It occupies trees and stems in hilly mid-level rainforest, perching on leaves and sometimes in tree holes. The base colour is creamish brown with a broad dark greenish stripe on the dorsum, that comes in the shape of an hourglass towards the center.

The belly is whitish in the middle with faint dark mottled markings while the limbs have dark bands. As typical with bush, or pygmy frogs, this species has a broad and large head in comparison with the body. It is nocturnal and feeds on insects in the wild.
