Amphibians ~ Microhylid Frogs

Microhylid frogs are a genus of tiny frogs that rarely exceed an inch in length. These frogs are mostly terrestial and live close to streams and pools of water in lowland to mid-level rainforest, though there are also arboreal and montane species (such as Metaphrynella pollicaris, often found inside watered tree holes in highland habitats). Some species have a very narrow mouth and a triangular shape, indicating a diet of tiny insects such as ants. The ecology of such frogs in Peninsular Malaysia is poorly-studied.

dog-toothed cat snakeKalophrynus palmatissimus is a tiny terrestial spade-shaped frog that is called the 'sticky frog' along with two other species in its genus. They secrete a gum from their body defensively when touched or handled, giving it their name.
