The long legged horned frog is similar to Megophrys aceras, but has a much slimmer body and longer hind legs, that when tucked in neatly and the frog crouched, protrude past the span of both front legs. It also has short appendages above the eyes. This species is usually brownish to cream in colour, which may or not have mottled markings on the back. The long legged horned frog is restricted to highland and montane forest areas, where it can thrive in disturbed areas, such as plantations, fringing jungles. In Southeast Asia, this species occurs from Vietnam through Thailand to Peninsular Malaysia.
