Ground Snakes

|
Ground snakes comprise some of the lesser-known species that are terrestial in nature, with a diverse range of colours, shapes and sizes. One of the most unusual of these snakes is the dragon snake, a fascinating serpent with small plate-like protrusions along the back, and a sharp, pointy head that resembles a mythological creature of old. Another cool species is the mock viper, a stout and small snake that mimics the shape and aggressive mannerisms of a viper, but without the deadly venom. The dragon snake is, at first glance, a rather dull and ugly snake. Place it under a bright light and the scales gleam with a brilliant iridescence, inspiring its colourful name.
