The green crested lizard is another common inhabitant of lowland forest and secondary jungle near urban habitats. In Southeast Asia, it occurs across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo. This hardy lizard is able to change the colour of its skin to match closely its background. Its usual colour is a warm green tone throughout its body wit a slight bluish tone at the labials. A short and small series of crests occur behind the head towards the base of the neck.
